DESIGN PROCESS


PROJECT | Wente Vineyards Limited Edition Artist Series Label Designs

GOAL | Increase wine club member engagement and product sales through limited edition packaging. Entice return to property through promotional events featuring artist and in-house Designer, Rebecca Schoefer.

OUTCOME | Increased product sales and club member engagement/attendance at in-person events.

MY ROLE

1—EXPLORATION | Explore artistic styles, colors and patterns for mood board, drawing from my early career in fashion design.

2—ITERATION | Illustrate graphic patterns, iterate colorways, drop into label spec.

3—PRESENTATION | Curate pattern selections, build product mocks, and develop client presentation of concept art.

4—FINALIZATION | Align on client selections of approved art for each wine.

5—PRODUCTION | Build sell sheets, merchandise production art (coasters, gift tags, etc.), and label print mechanicals. Consult with print vendor on label finishing options (emboss, spot gloss, gold foil) within client budget. Attend press check to assure quality control.

7—PROMOTION | Create digital assets (static and motion) for social media, website, and email.

8—CONSUMPTION | Enjoying the fermented fruits of my labor on Instagram LIVE with Aly Wente. Cheers!

DESIGN PROCESS


PROJECT | Murrieta's Well Brand Development Omni-Channel Pedigree Campaign

GOAL | Create an easy-to-update evergreen campaign to showcase back-to-back awards for multiple vintages. Highlight acclaimed winemaker Robbie Meyer. Move away from previous horse racing thematic program, aligning visuals and messaging with luxury brand placement.

OUTCOME | Increased wholesale buy-in and points of distribution YOY. Garnered Sales Team excitement for program and improved efficacy of sales tools.

MY ROLE

1—COLLABORATION | Participate in strategic program alignment meetings with stakeholders to agree on the problem we are trying to solve. Understand potential obstacles and flesh out the FOCUS, FUNCTION, FIRE document.

2—EXPLORATION | Explore artistic styles and elements for mood board. Gain stakeholder alignment before moving into design phase.

3—PRESENTATION | Develop client presentation of stylescape to include copy ideation and anticipation of future design needs.

4—FINALIZATION | Align on client selections of approved art for each deliverable. Build imagery for sales tools first.

5—PRODUCTION | Consult with print vendor on structural engineering, corrugate material selection, dielines and print finishing options. Build print mechanicals. Attend press check to assure quality control.

6—RENOVATION | Update program visuals and copy for the following year to include a newly released product addition with its own accolades. "Making her award-winning debut, Sauvignon Blanc."

7—PROMOTION | Create digital assets (static and motion) for social media, website, and email.

GOAL | Re-design logo and refresh color scheme to reflect the San Francisco Bay area. Client ask to incorporate elements of a modern ticket, a rainbow and a bridge.

ROLE | Develop and pitch concepts to Client for illustrations, fonts and colors. Source and manipulate stock vector illustration of bridge. Illustrate barcode icons.

GOAL | Participate in a first of its kind, cross-functional group of 5 to explore, interview, and gather data about a key target audience segment. Create a tool to educate and inform internal marketing and sales teams about this key segment. Resulting deck was presented at a companywide quaterly town hall meeting.

GOAL | Design standardized labels to unify external vendor products that are sold in the Wente Vineyards Tasting Rooms, which reflect elevated branding.

ROLE | Ideate concepts, present to client, photograph product mock-up, build style guide and product kit for vendor use.

OUTCOME | Increased product sales YOY. Strengthened brand presence, improved visual cohesiveness of product merchandising in the Tasting Rooms. Streamlined vendor execution and approval process resulting in fewer issues and improved vendor relations.


Design Caulia's Kitchen Product Labels for New Package

GOAL | Refresh label design for new jar packaging to build stronger brand connection and merchandising opportunities.

ROLE | Refine illustrations from concepts developed by client. Use exisiting colors and fonts to create label layouts for 3 products. Build print production files.

Design Trade Show Graphics for CG Visions Booth at the International Builders Show

GOAL | Design enviromental graphics for a fully-engaged customer experience at this annual builder trade show.

ROLE | As the in-house designer specializing in trade show graphics for Simpson Strong-Tie, I took direction from the Creative Director and collaborated with the Event Director on messaging, color, and imagery. Designed and produced print files for large format signage and 3D environmental graphics. Rendered 3D mockups to aid in visualization and onsite event assembly.

Develop Lobster Clambake Annual Fundraising Event Omni-Channel Campaign & Auction Graphics

GOAL | Create original artwork and all campaign materials for a new annual fundraising event for The Livermore Valley Performing Arts Center. Event targeted community leaders (political and professional), grass-roots arts supporters, and high-end donors for an evening of casual elegance in support of arts and education.

ROLE | In collaboration with the Marketing Director and Development Director: developed, pitched and produced concept, messaging, logo, and illustrated original artwork for promotion and event materials.

OUTCOME | Raised over $125k for local performing arts and educational programs.

T-Shirt Design for Wine Harvest Season—Wente Vineyards

GOAL | Design t-shirt graphic for the annual wine harvest season to be worn by all team members.

ROLE | I took direction from the head of winemaking operations to create a t-shirt design inpspired by Grape Crush soda. Conceived, designed, presented, and produced screen print files and promotional graphics. Rendered mockups to aid in visualization of design on apparel.


Design Merchandise for Rising Music Duo—Falllift

GOAL | Create graphics for stickers, coasters, patches and more, for a newly formed musical duo out of North Carolina.

ROLE | Strategize messaging and concepts with client, ideate, present, refine with feedback, and create product mock-ups. Research vendors and specs for stickers and patches, communicate findings back to the band. Build and ship production files.


Logo Design and T-Shirt Graphic—Simpson Strong-Tie

GOAL | Create a logo to unify the sales force within the Anchoring systems 'Concrete and Structural Repair' products division. Used for t-shirts, website, newsletter and sales collateral.
